EDGE Grant for Business Systems: What Singapore SMEs Should Know First

What the EDGE grant is, what Enterprise Singapore says it supports for business systems, the rules that matter before you commit to anything, and why you should check and apply yourself before engaging any vendor, including us.

Updated 2026-10-24

Direct Answer

The EDGE grant is Enterprise Singapore's business grant. It replaced the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG), the Market Readiness Assistance grant (MRA) and the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG), which ceased on 29 September 2026. One of its areas is Automation and Digitalisation, which includes integrated enterprise systems. Your company applies for it directly, through the Business Grants Portal, before any work starts or any money is paid. Enterprise Singapore decides who qualifies. Find out whether your project fits, and apply, before you engage any vendor, Lyt Brox included.

This page summarises Enterprise Singapore's published information as read on 24 October 2026. It is not grant advice, and Lyt Brox does not apply for grants on anyone's behalf. Always check the EDGE grant page and the EDGE FAQ for the current rules.

What EDGE Is

Enterprise Singapore describes EDGE as support for Singapore companies starting new projects to upgrade capabilities, improve efficiency and expand overseas. It covers eight business areas, including Automation and Digitalisation, Business Strategy, Financial Management, Innovation, Internationalisation, Standards and Sustainability.

The headline figures on Enterprise Singapore's page:

  • Up to 70% support for SMEs and up to 50% for non-SMEs, with the level depending on the activity.
  • Up to S$100,000 in total grant support per company per year, across all activities, refreshed every 1 April.
  • Support is paid back after the project, not in advance.

If your company had an EDG, MRA or PSG application or project already under way, Enterprise Singapore says it continues under the old scheme.

What It Says About Business Systems

Business systems sit under Automation and Digitalisation, in the integrated enterprise systems activities. From Enterprise Singapore's published pages:

  • Support level depends on the activity. Integrated enterprise systems are listed as separate activities, often by sector. The one we read, ERP software for wholesale, offers up to 50% for SMEs and up to 30% for non-SMEs, with a cost cap of S$45,000. Find the activity for your own sector and read its figures, which may differ.
  • A smaller annual cap. The FAQ says up to S$30,000 a year of the overall S$100,000 can be used on single-function digital solutions, integrated enterprise systems and selected automation activities.
  • Pre-approved or your own vendor. An integrated system can come from a pre-approved vendor, or from your own vendor if no pre-approved solution suits you. Either way it must include at least three core functions.
  • Processing time. Enterprise Singapore states about 1 week with a pre-approved vendor and about 10 weeks with your own vendor.
  • Eligibility. Among the criteria on that wholesale activity page, which your sector's page may add to: your business is registered and operating in Singapore, at least 30% is owned by Singapore citizens or permanent residents, and it is not home-based.

Whether a particular system qualifies is Enterprise Singapore's decision, not the vendor's.

The Rules That Matter Before You Commit

These come from the EDGE FAQ, and they are the ones that can cost you the grant:

  1. Apply before anything starts. Enterprise Singapore does not support retrospective applications. Your company must not have started work or paid any supplier, vendor or third party, deposit included, before submitting.
  2. Your company applies and pays. The FAQ says vendors and third parties must not submit applications or claims, or make payments, on your behalf. Staff with the Corppass roles of BGP Preparer or BGP Acceptor submit.
  3. Buying after submission is your risk. You may buy after submitting and before approval, and payment made after submission may be supported if the application is approved. If it is not approved, the cost is yours.
  4. One final claim. You claim once, after the project is complete and fully paid. The FAQ gives claim windows opening from December 2026 or January 2027, depending on the activity.

What to Do First

  1. Read the EDGE grant page and the activity that matches your project.
  2. Check your eligibility, and whether a pre-approved solution already does what you need.
  3. If you are unsure, use Enterprise Singapore's own advisory channels listed on its EDGE page.
  4. Ask any vendor for a written quotation you can upload with your application. Do not sign, pay or let work start until your application is submitted.

Where Lyt Brox Fits

Lyt Brox builds operations systems for Singapore service companies: quotations, work orders, service reports, scheduling and the records behind them. We are not a pre-approved EDGE vendor, so a system we build would go through the own-vendor route, with its longer processing time.

If you decide to apply with us as your vendor:

  • We give you a written quotation with the scope, the core functions, the cost breakdown and one-time fees shown apart from monthly ones, for you to upload.
  • Nothing starts and nothing is invoiced until you tell us your application is submitted.
  • We do not prepare, submit or claim on your behalf, and we do not promise approval.

If a pre-approved solution already fits your business, it may be the simpler route, and we will say so.

What This Page Is NOT

  • Not grant advice. Enterprise Singapore's published rules govern.
  • Not a promise that any project, ours included, will be approved.
  • Not an offer to apply for you.

FAQ

Is the PSG grant still available in 2026? No, not for new applications. Enterprise Singapore says PSG, EDG and MRA ceased on 29 September 2026. Projects already submitted continue under the old scheme.

What replaced PSG and EDG? The EDGE grant. Enterprise Singapore says EDG, MRA and PSG ceased on 29 September 2026, and businesses apply under EDGE from 30 September 2026.

Can the EDGE grant pay for a business system? It can support integrated enterprise systems under Automation and Digitalisation. The support level depends on the activity, so read the one for your sector; the wholesale ERP activity, for example, offers up to 50% for SMEs. Enterprise Singapore decides whether a specific project qualifies.

Can I start the project and apply later? No. Retrospective applications are not supported, and no work or payment, deposit included, may happen before you submit.

Can a vendor apply for me? No. Your company applies, pays and claims itself through the Business Grants Portal.

Is Lyt Brox a pre-approved EDGE vendor? No. A system we build would go through the own-vendor route.

Summary

EDGE replaced EDG, MRA and PSG on 30 September 2026. It can support business systems, but your company must check eligibility and apply itself before any work starts or any money is paid. Read Enterprise Singapore's pages first. Then, if you want Lyt Brox as your vendor, we provide a quotation for your application and start only after you have submitted.
